Arrived for dinner for a party of 3. Looked at the menu, which was a holiday menu, with higher prices. I didn’t see hibatchi chicken on the menu and was told it wasn’t available. I informed the staff that my daughter had a shellfish allergy and wanted chicken only. We were about to leave and they said they could accommodate us. I mentioned again about the shellfish allergy. They typically do the shrimp appetizer after the meal is prepared. They told us they will only do that IF the others sitting at the table AGREE!!! Of course, we left after commenting they they won’t make an exception for a food allergy. We have been there many times in the past with no issues. Not sure why all of a sudden they no longer will adjust for those with allergies. That is our visit to Benihana!!! I’ll be sure to share my experience with others, especially those with allergies.
Pleased with dinner. First time in a longtime at this location. Got in 1745hr before the dinner rush picked up. 5 course meal for steak hibachi. Meal was delectable. Our chef did standard theatrical tricks. Some other hibachi places do a little bit more entertainment but I was satisfied. 8.1/10
Came here on Christmas Eve with my girlfriend. The price was jacked up, but the food was good. My chef, Antonio put on a good show. Only problem I had, was that my server forgot to serve me my second round of drinks. I called the manager over who was watching over our table and he was very helpful, apologized and got my drink in 1minute. :)
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with great variety but not too heavy. It was $30 or more but this included an alcoholic cocktail beverage. So maybe $20 without the drink. We opted to sit at a regular table instead of having the Hibachi Grill show. Overall a great lunch spot for a day out with the girls.
-Not a whole lot of food for what you might expect your typical hibachi restaurant, such as 'Shogun 22' in Green Brook. Three of us finished with nothing left to take home.
Overall not a great experience, but in terms of food, it was really good.
-I called 2 days in advance to make reservations. They asked if it was for a special occasion and I told them it was for my girlfriends' birthday. They forgot to do anything birthday related for us but while we were there they sang to another table.
-They forgot to serve us rice and ended up bringing it out wayyy late (how do you forget to serve rice at a hibachi?). All 4 of us asked for it in the beginning, and the other 4 at our table got theirs. They ended up bringing it out late after meat had gone almost cold. Also it would have been nice to have it fried with the sauce and all that right off the hot surface.. lame.
Could have done a better job but hey the food was great.
