Rooms are small but very clean, whole motel nicely maintained. Dog friendly, too.
If I could give this negative stars, I would! We went to a convention in Edison and figured we would give this place a try. The first night we were there, our room ended up having bugs. The new room was fine and everything was okay, but here is the thing. I have never EVER been the person that DOES NOT leave out the do not disturb sign. From the moment we got there, I put the sign up, I just don't like the maid service coming in when I'm not there, so I made sure it was up. The morning of our convention, we grabbed our backpacks (and left one single personal item on the bed and a few drinks in the room) when we left the room, the housekeeping was outside the room and saw us leave. We triple checked that the do not disturb sign was up. Then we come back the sign was gone and so was the item. I go to the front desk to ask for the item back and they brought the man in charge of house keeping in. The man told me at first "No, they didn't go in your room." Then, the second thing he told me was "Well you were only staying here one night and not three days, so we cleaned the room." Then the third thing they told me was "There was no do not disturb sign on the door and when they cleaned there was nothing in the room." Which was a complete lie. At this point, they had the man in charge of the housekeeping in there along with the man who apparently cleaned the room in there and they were both SCREAMING at the top of their lungs at me about the situation. I was not at all being rude or cussing or screaming, so it was very upsetting. The man at the front desk asked if they could check their service carts for it and they both refused to do it. The man at the front desk told me to come back in the morning to talk to the manager, so I did. The manager brought out a log that wasn't there yesterday and told me that the "Do not disturb" sign was definitely not up. The cleaning crew and the man at the front desk on the second day both continued to call me a liar and then changed their story again to "Well, they find golden rings all the time so why would they take your personal item" -- it was priceless to me. They also told me that it was likely "my mistake" -- like when you have a phone and set it somewhere and forget where you put it. I drove in a car. The item was on the top left corner of the bed when I left and then it was gone. It was by far the hotel that took it and likely threw it out because they assumed the room was empty. Then they told me that it was hotel policy to believe their cleaning crew over their customers. Which again at this point, the man that cleaned the room was AGAIN screaming at the top of his lungs about the situation. I told the man at the front desk that it was making me severely uncomfortable and I didn't understand the reason for it. I wasn't trying to get them in trouble, I just wanted to find the item that was missing. The problem came in here is that the hotel didn't want to admit that they made a mistake in entering a room that had a do not disturb sign up on the door. So they pointed all fingers at me and called me the liar. They told me that there was no sign up on the door and it was likely that it flew away with the wind. To which I said, yeah, that'd be a great excuse if the sign wasn't on the table when we got back. So they promised that they would give the general manager an e-mail with my phone number and have him call me. Told me that he would be in on the day that I was leaving. When I checked out, of course...no general manager and no call was ever made for two days. I contacted corporate because I should have never been screamed at and I should not have been called a liar. To which I was called a liar plenty of times and everyone blamed me when it was in fact the hotel that was in they wrong. Then the general manager finally gets back to me and says "Yeah, the log says there was no do not disturb sign, nothing was found upon checkout (which was Monday and the problem occurred on Saturday and nothing was resolved, again placing the blame on me.)
Pretty good place, nothing to write home about but nothing to really complain about either. It's clean and comfortable and the price is great. The only complaint and warning that I would have is that there is no mini fridge or anything of the sort so we have no place to put any food or drinks.
Today around 5:15 pm Nov 17 I stopped by at the front desk to print my 5 days receipt because I would like to leave early in the morning. The front desk clerk was very rude with attitude to tell I must come back tomorrow. I am a traveler guy and this is what I do to get the receipt a day before so I don't have to stop by the following morning especially my room is in the 2nd building. I would not to recommend this hotel because of this true clerk. I am to get a room to Ranoake VA tomorrow but I will find another hotel instead.
There was smoking smell even though room marked as non-smoking , price wise ok
